Hi I’m Sarah from @keedsfarmflowers one of the stall holders @tfsundaymarket this week there is a focus on local produce, so they asked me to talk about what I’m doing. Well ……this year has been a crazy year already ⛄️, the anemone in snow sums it up. I’m snow late sowing my seeds it’s made me rethink how I plant this year. I usually start my seeds in black plastic seed cells because I’m really frugal with my seeds. I try my best to reuse the inserts each year but often they split and I have to buy new. It always seems such a waste. Then by chance I had a conversation with a commercial grower who disclosed they never keep seed from year to year as the germination usually diminishes every year ( I have to confess some of my seeds are over 5 years old hence the poor germination) so this season I have discided to dispense with the plastic and direct sow as much as I can.
