The Tobacco Factory is hosting a  fun and fundraising day for Ukraine this coming Sunday, 14th August. What promises to be a sunny day, kicks off at 10am with special stalls selling cakes, clothes, artwork and ephemera in addition to the regular Sunday market which spills out into Raleigh Road. All contributions are welcome and any surplus clothes will be donated to a charity sending provisions to Ukraine.

There will also be children’s activities from 11am and we are hoping to source some iconic Ukrainian films to show in the Snug, adjacent to the café/bar, throughout the day. In the afternoon from 2.30pm there will be live music and singing on the stage and later in the evening more music and dance. There will also be information for Ukrainians in Bristol and a plea for those with spare space in their homes to become hosts.

George Ferguson CBE said: “Bristol is stepping up to the mark with its hospitality and the feedback we have been receiving from those Ukrainians who are already here is very positive. We are keen to play our part with the sense of fun that we approach everything as well as make a worthwhile contribution to the two charities we are supporting on the day.“

Note: 14th August is the final day of Bristol Balloon Fiesta. Tobacco Factory is a good place from which to see some of the ‘fly-overs’ as well as being an ideal ‘watering hole’ on the way to or from Ashton Court!
