A Few Good Movies is a community film club in the Tobacco Factory Snug. Films will all end with an open and relaxed discussion.
We are starting off our spooky season screenings with The Faculty, a sci-fi horror film in which a group of highschool students begin to suspect that their teachers are being replaced by extraterrestrials. Directed by Robert Rodriguez (From Dusk till Dawn, Desperado, Sin City, Spy Kids) and written by Kevin Williamson (writer for Scream and creator of Dawson’s Creek and The Vampire Diaries), the film combines Rodriguez’s subversive camp direction with Williamson’s meta humour and snappy teen drama writing to create a smart and fun sci-fi horror that never loses it’s cool edge. With an all star cast including Josh Harnett, Elijah Wood, Clea Duvall, Jordanna Brewster, Shawn Hatosy, Jon Stewart, Salma Hayek and Robert Patrick, The Faculty is a metaphor for teenage alienation and losing one’s individuality to a clique or a crowd. It is relentlessly paced, effortlessly cool and has a pounding soundtrack that all add up to a classic in the genre!
