A collection of artwork inspired by creatures of the air and ocean.

Using primarily charcoal and tonal washes Liane investigates the sculptural elements found in the form of her subjects, angular shapes and rhythms within the body, but also attempting to capture the essence of the creature she is portraying.

“ I have always been drawn to the avian form, particularly birds in flight, where the shape of the wings makes fluid and expressive patterns.

I am also interested in the symbolism of birds, particularly the owl, which appears in mythology throughout the world.

Our wildlife is under threat through habitat loss, chemical extermination of insects and climate change. Let’s do what we can to help protect our avian and ocean creatures, the world would be a dismal place without them.”
