Gabrielle Ruffle is a Bristol-based artist, originally from the North West of England. Her focus is on landscape painting using oils on canvas and chalk drawings & giclee prints. Gabrielle’s landscapes are based on snapshots of places she has visited or lived such as Liverpool, London, Bristol, North Wales and Chester. The common theme of her work is the use of colour and light, and she loves the different colours of the sky from one day to the next, changing weather conditions and light quality. Gabrielle likes to experiment with perspectives and traditional landscape formats. The results are images which are reminiscent of the original location but dreamlike and abstracted.
