“Poets and wanderers at heart, A Different Thread reflect on romance, reckoning, and the call of the open road. Front man Robert Jackson weaves together elements of piedmont blues, 70s’ folk revival, and country into an authentic americana sound, with his wailing harmonica, finger-picking guitar, and stirring voice.
A Different Thread has supported the likes of Jodie Stevens (Big Star), Native Harrow, and The Milk Carton Kids and gained the attention of both BBC and NPR radio. Through extensive touring, they have garnered a loyal following across the UK, Europe, and the USA. At its core, the band is the collaboration between songwriters Robert Jackson (from Lichfield, UK) and Alicia Best (from Durham, North Carolina, USA), although the transatlantic nature of the duo means they can’t always perform together and for this show, Jackson takes centre stage, backed up by Mike Seal on double bass.”
