JOIN US FOR LIVE MUSIC FROM SOME OF BRISTOL’S BEST PERFORMERS IN TOBACCO FACTORY CAFE BAR, EVERY SUNDAY 8-10PM.

Andy Hague on trumpet/flugel, Jim Blomfield on keyboard, and Ryan Thrupp on drums

BS3 is home to a wealth of musicians and artists of all descriptions, and tonight’s band is made up of three jazz players who happen to live within five minutes walk of the Tobacco Factory. They’ll be playing a mixture of jazz standards, some Blue Note classics and a couple of Andy’s originals.

Over the past 25 years trumpeter Andy Hague has become well known in Bristol both as a performer and as organiser of weekly jazz venue The Be-Bop Club. Besides his jazz activities he has played in many other settings, including the albums by Portishead and for theatre, tv and film productions.

In 2019 Andy played for the first time with legendary UK jazz composer Mike Westbrook as part of his Uncommon Orchestra, and post-Covid the band has appeared at Cheltenham and Cambridge Jazz Festivals, the Rossini Festival in Lugo, Italy and Ronnie Scott’s 2022 and 2023. Andy is also well known as a jazz educator, and has tutored for several jazz summer schools and residential weekends including CL Jazz, Music For You, Gloucester Academy of Music, Dartington and Falmouth-Yamaha.
