LIVE MUSIC IN THE CAFE BAR, EVERY SUNDAY 8-10PM
Combining heartfelt and intelligent storytelling with close harmonies, finger-picked guitar and clawhammer banjo, Shayler & Brooke make contemporary folk music that draws on traditions from both sides of the Atlantic.
Writing in response to personal losses, family history and political troubles, they have captivated audiences with their raw vulnerability, humour and warmth. Bristol-based Shayler & Brooke comprise of Londoner Kate Shayler (vocals and banjo) and Dorset-born Chris Brooke (vocals and guitar).
Their debut album Come the Turn of the Season released on 1st April 2020. They were shortlisted as part of The Purbeck Valley Folk Festival’s ‘Purbeck Rising’ competition in 2020 and 2021.
