ROYAL VOLUNTARY SERVICE (RVS) – listen to our Speaker!

The ROYAL VOLUNTARY SERVICES (RVS) in Bristol offers a Home from Hospital scheme for over 55s. For six weeks, volunteers visit the person at home for one to two hours per week in order to offer support around the home, help with contacting other organisations or simply providing social interactions. Volunteers must be aged 18+. Online training and a DBS check will be required.

CARERS SUPPORT CENTRE is a local charity, supporting unpaid carers across Bristol. Unpaid carers provide support to someone who couldn’t manage without their help. Volunteers provide crucial support by offering respite, helping at Carers’ Groups, fundraising activities and much more. Volunteers are sought who could give a carer a break for 2/3 hours, and also former unpaid carers who could provide emotional support to another carer.

READ EASY BRISTOL provides one-to-one coaching for anyone who struggles with reading. Reading coaches are local volunteers who meet readers twice a week and work together through the ‘Turning Pages’ reading manual. Read Easy is looking for readers, reading coaches, volunteer coordinators and members of the management team.
